The Aisle

Made from a single block of Tunisian olive wood, our bowl is unequivocally beautiful — with a layered kaleidoscope of texture, color and grain.

Carved by hand so no two bowls are ever the exact same. Sanded and shaped so the silhouette is perfectly imperfect and the hand feel is incredible. The wood is sourced from 100 year old olive trees that no longer bear fruit.

The bowl is polished with olive oil and sealed with natural beeswax, the bowl lasts a lifetime and earns its place as a future heirloom. Made by family business in Sfax, Tunisia so every bowl has character and life.

Tunisian Olive Wood From 100-year Old Trees

Our bowls are made from 100-year old olive trees that grow in the town of Sfax, Tunisa. This wood is legendary for its beauty and longevity. The natural grain forms a kaleidoscopic pattern of color and patterns. The age and character of the wood make it incredibly hard and amazingly durable.

Carved, Shaped & Sanded by Hand
Our bowls are made by a family. They start with a single, solid block of olive wood. They carve the block by hand until it reaches the perfect silhouette. Then, they start sanding and shaping.

They stop when the bowl develops its iconic seamless and smooth hand feel. Finally, they polish with olive oil to bring out the color and seal with natural beeswax to make it waterproof.

Stable, Durable, Sustainable
We tested 19 salad bowls for a year. Most were made to last months. The wood chipped and cracked.

The base becomes misshapen and the bowl becomes faded. Ours was made to last a lifetime— the wood is sourced sustainably from olive trees that no longer bear fruit. Naturally, hard olivewood lasts decades and always holds its shape. The polish stays on and the beeswax keeps it all together.

No Two Are Alike
The family business behind our bowls has handmade over 10,000 bowls in the last decade. No two have ever been the exact same. That's what we love about olivewood — it has character.

Every grain is unique, every shape singular and every bowl stunning and unlike any other.

To care for your olive wood bowl, wash with warm- mild soapy water, rinse, and wipe dry immediately. Do not soak in water.

To restore your bowl, use a clean cloth and pour some olive oil onto the cloth. Wipe down the bowl with the olive oil.

This bowl may be in direct contact with food, just make sure to clean as above after each use.
