Modernist Design Royalty

Inspired by the legendary Barcelona chair, this is modernist design at its finest and most elegant. Two chrome bars come together in a streamlined "s" shape to form the seat and back legs. Meanwhile a long elegant arc forms the back and the front legs.

Made with top-grain cowhide and mirror-finished stainless steel, our rendition is made to fit right in with the ones that sit in museums and 5-star hotel lobbies.

Originally designed to seat the Spanish king, the chair is serious about comfort with an extra-wide backrest, an ergonomic 105 ° back-angle and high-density sculpting foam.

Materials

Top-grain Cowhide Leather
Cowhide makes the strongest leather on the market. Using only the top-grain ensures a consistently smooth color and texture.

Hand-buffed 304 Stainless Steel
Like all the best steel furniture, the chair comes with incredible strength, load-bearing capacity and corrosion-resistance. But, unlike all steel furniture, this hand-buffed 304 steel contains chromium and nickel — giving it an extra bit of luster and strength.

High-Density Cushions
We designed our lounge chair to be deeply, and unequivocally, comfortable. For us, that was all in the cushions. Our cushions are denser, deeper, and softer than any we've every felt. This allows them to gently mold around your body without becoming permanently deformed.

Design

Inspired by the Barcelona Chair
Ours is a replica of the legendary Barcelona chair. Originally designed in 1929 by by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich to seat Spanish royalty, the chair has since achieved royal status of its own. Today, it sits in the permanent exhibits every design museums and in the lobbies of 5-star hotels.

For good reason. In the words of the MOMA "The Barcelona Chair achieves the serenity of line and the refinement of proportions and materials characteristic of Mies van der Rohe's highly disciplined architecture". It is supported on each side by two chrome-plated, flat steel bars. Seen from the side, the single curve of the bar forming the chair's back and front legs crosses the S-curve of the bar forming the seat and back legs, making an intersection of the two."

The Barcelona Chair arrives approximately 3 - 5 Days from the day of order.
