Materials

Natural Travertine
A terrestrial limestone formed by mineral springs, travertine has been used in architecture since Roman antiquity. Each bookend is cut from a solid block, then left with its characteristic open pores and warm sand tones rather than filled or polished smooth. Weight varies slightly piece to piece with the density of the stone.
Design

Pure geometry: the wedge does its job through mass and angle alone, with no applied detail.
