A Chair That Bends the Rules

Playful yet commanding, this chair is unlike anything else in the room. Originally designed in 1929 by Eileen Gray, it became an instant icon for its bold silhouette and sensual curves. Our version stays true to the original form, with circular stacked cushions set over a low, deep seat, creating a piece that feels both daring and timeless. Its presence transforms any space into a statement of design history.

26.0"H × 31.5"D × 33.1"W

Materials

Solid Wood Frame
A sturdy foundation crafted from solid wood for lasting strength.

High-Resilience Foam Padding
Thick cushioning that provides comfort and maintains its shape over time.

Houndstooth Jacquard Upholstery
Durable polyester-blend fabric in a bold houndstooth weave, adding pattern and texture.

Brushed Stainless Steel Base
A cantilever base in stainless steel with a brushed finish, combining durability with modern refinement.

Design

A bold shape with Bauhaus roots:
• Three stacked tubular cushions echo the Michelin man, who inspired Gray's original design
• Deep seat with curved backrest invites lounging in style
• Brushed stainless steel cantilever base adds contrast and lightness
• Iconic, irreverent, and unmistakably modern—nearly a century later

Care

• Spot clean with a damp cloth using cold water and mild detergent
• Avoid harsh solvents or bleach
• Vacuum upholstery regularly to maintain structure and texture
• For deeper cleaning, consult a professional upholstery service

Tubular Silhouette

The stacked, semi-circular rolls form a playful, sculptural backrest—instantly recognizable and unapologetically bold.

Boldly Feminine

Interpreted as a subversive twist on masculine club chairs, it carries elegance with assertive presence.

Avant-Garde Statement

Radical in its day, the chair embraced expressive, anthropomorphic curves when modernism was still rigid.

Design Icon

Now a fixture in high-end interiors, it stands as one of the defining silhouettes of 20th-century design.

Judge us by our looks

Our packaging is safe, simple, and proudly no frills. We don't think it makes sense to pay for things you throw away immediately.

That's why the Muse Chair ships in the same protective packaging the manufacturer uses, covered in functional stickers and foreign stamps showing the journey it's been on.
