Mid-Century Saucer

George Nelson's Bubble Lamp, designed in 1947, revolutionized pendant lighting through abstract geometry and diffused light. The saucer form is one of the iconic shapes from the original collection. Our reproduction maintains the same restrained proportions and optical diffusion of the original, available in multiple scales to suit different spaces.
Materials

Bubble Shade
The spherical acrylic shade is molded from translucent plastic with a satin finish and provides even, glare-free light diffusion throughout the room.

Brass Suspension
The mounting hardware is cast brass with a polished finish, anchoring the shade securely while remaining minimal in profile.
Design

Mid-century lighting as sculptural form—each shape casts its own shadow.

• Saucer silhouette derived from Nelson's original 1947 designs
• Translucent acrylic creates soft, ambient light without harsh shadows
• Minimal brass suspension allows the form to float as intended
• Available in three scale options for pendant, semi-flush, and accent applications
• Suspended design creates negative space and visual lightness

The Essential

Satin Diffusion

The acrylic shade is molded with a satin finish — translucent enough to glow evenly, dense enough to eliminate glare.

The Essential

Minimal Suspension

The mounting hardware disappears into the ceiling. A 2m cord, no plug — hardwire installation keeps the form uninterrupted.

The Essential

Saucer. Suspended.

The mid-century saucer form, reproduced at the original proportions. Soft light, no harsh shadows, nothing extra.

The Essential

Shadow by Design

The faceted panels cast their own geometry on the ceiling. Mid-century lighting as sculptural form — each shape casts its own shadow.

Questions About The Nimbus Wide Pendant

How long until I receive my order?

The Nimbus Wide Pendant arrives approximately 5-7 Weeks from the day of order.

Our products take longer to arrive than most others on the internet. But there's a good reason why. Most of our pieces are made to order and ship directly from the source. We don’t keep warehouses or carry excess inventory. This is how we cut costs and pass thousands in savings back to you. But it also means you have to wait a bit longer.
What is your return policy

The Nimbus Wide Pendant can be returned after receiving the order only if the product is damaged or unusable.

Our products are made to order. So we cannot offer returns for changes in preference. But we always do what we can to make it right.

To be returned, products need to be completely unused and still in their original packaging.
How can I track my order?

The Nimbus Wide Pendant ships within 3-7 days of order placement.

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive an email with tracking details, allowing you to monitor its progress. Simply use the provided tracking information on our delivery partner’s website to stay updated on your shipment.
