Inspired by Ferruccio Laviani’s sculptural experiments with color and form, the Orbit Floor Lamp turns light into a modern mobile. Each abstract panel hovers around a slim metal spine, catching and scattering light like a constellation of color. It’s part lamp, part installation — and fully alive in a room.

Materials

Powder-Coated Glass Panels
Each panel is made from thick, lacquered glass, cut into irregular biomorphic shapes and finished in vivid matte tones. The surface diffuses light softly while the color remains saturated — creating a glow that feels painterly rather than polished.

Chromed Steel Frame
A polished steel spine rises from a three-legged base, supporting the glass panels in perfect equilibrium. The mirror finish contrasts the matte panels, amplifying their color and giving the structure a sense of levitation.

Aluminum Hardware
Brushed aluminum fasteners hold each glass disc in place. Their visible, circular forms echo the geometry of the panels themselves — functional details treated as design moments.

Design Notes

The Orbit Floor Lamp channels 1990s Italian postmodernism through a graphic, almost kinetic composition. Each pane of color operates like a brushstroke in space — independent yet balanced in rhythm. When illuminated, the lamp becomes a vertical sculpture of tinted light, equal parts whimsy and precision. A piece meant to stand in dialogue with art as much as with furniture.
