A Modernist Desk

Inspired by the mid-century ingenuity of George Nelson’s 1958 Swag Leg Desk, the Rutrick Desk carries forward the idea of a light, sculptural workstation elevated by its metal framework.

The angled steel legs echo the engineered elegance of the original—curved, tapered, and visually weightless—while the wood top keeps the surface warm and grounded. A raised back panel provides subtle structure and organization without clutter, creating a modern desk that feels both purposeful and unmistakably tied to classic modernist design.

Material

Stainless Steel Frame
The angled steel legs form the desk’s defining geometry—rigid, weight-bearing, and finished with a subtle sheen that stays crisp over time.

Solid Wood Top
An oak or walnut wood work surface available in two tones: oak for a lighter, Scandinavian look, and walnut for a deeper, more saturated mood. Each has a smooth, matte finish suitable for daily use.

Fireproof Engineered Panel
A stabilized core beneath the wood surface that reinforces the span and provides heat-resistant, warp-resistant structure without adding visual bulk.

Design

A functional nod to 1950s modernism.
• Sculpted steel legs create a distinctive profile
• Oak or walnut top options for tonal contrast
• Raised back panel for organization and structure
• Open frame keeps the desk visually light

Questions About The Rutrick Desk

How long until I receive my order?

The Rutrick Desk arrives approximately 5-8 weeks from the day of order.

Our products take longer to arrive than most others on the internet. But there's a good reason why. Most of our pieces are made to order and ship directly from the source. We don’t keep warehouses or carry excess inventory. This is how we cut costs and pass thousands in savings back to you. But it also means you have to wait a bit longer.

What is your return policy

The Rutrick Desk can be returned after receiving the order only if the product is damaged or unusable.

Our products are made to order. So we cannot offer returns for changes in preference. But we always do what we can to make it right.

To be returned, products need to be completely unused and still in their original packaging.

How can I track my order?

The Rutrick Desk ships within 1-2 weeks of order placement.

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive an email with tracking details, allowing you to monitor its progress. Simply use the provided tracking information on our delivery partner’s website to stay updated on your shipment.
