Design

Handle
It might sound counterintuitive, but shorter handles are generally easier to grip and more maneuverable, offering a tighter grip and greater control. However, the handle shouldn't be so short that it doesn't fit comfortably, especially for larger hands. We've found the perfect balance at 4.33"—not too short, not too long.

Weight
When designing for weight, we aimed for a light body with a heavy head, choosing lightweight aluminum for the task. The weighted head ensures users don’t need to press down, reducing the risk of irritation, as the razor provides the necessary pressure.

Convenience
The butterfly razor’s head opens and closes with a simple twist, avoiding the lengthy process of unscrewing and rescrewing. Experts recommend butterfly safety razors for their one-piece design, which makes swapping blades quick and easy.
