One Continuous Line

A chair drawn as a single gesture. The form flows from backrest to seat to leg without interruption—thin where it can be, strong where it needs to be. It’s a study in how far molded plywood can be pushed.

Light in appearance. Precise in construction.

Materials

Molded Plywood Shell
Formed through layered wood veneers pressed into compound curves. This technique creates strength through shape rather than mass, allowing the chair to remain thin, flexible, and resilient.

Natural Wood Finish
The surface highlights the grain pattern of the plywood layers, emphasizing the material’s organic character while maintaining a smooth, tactile finish.

Design

The silhouette is instantly recognizable—an hourglass-like back flowing into a waterfall seat, supported by tapering legs. Every curve serves both structure and comfort.

• Continuous curve from backrest to seat
• Sculpted waist creates visual lightness
• Tapered legs reinforce the floating form
• Minimal thickness achieved through molding
• No excess framing or added structure

Size Guide

• 26.5" W × 21.5" D × 31.5" H

Molded Plywood Innovation

A defining postwar technique that allowed designers to create complex curves with minimal material, shaping modern furniture as we know it

Single Gesture Form

The chair reads as one uninterrupted line, eliminating visual breaks between back, seat, and structure

Strength Through Curvature

The thin profile is deceptive—its durability comes from engineered bends rather than bulk

Enduring Design Language

A foundational example of mid-century experimentation with plywood, where material capability directly informed form

Judge us by our looks

Our packaging is safe, simple, and proudly no frills. We don't think it makes sense to pay for things you throw away immediately.

That's why the Swoop Armchair ships in the same protective packaging the manufacturer uses, covered in functional stickers and foreign stamps showing the journey it's been on.

Questions About The Swoop Armchair

How long until I receive my order?

The Swoop Armchair arrives approximately 7-11 weeks from the day of order.

Our products take longer to arrive than most others on the internet. But there's a good reason why. Most of our pieces are made to order and ship directly from the source. We don’t keep warehouses or carry excess inventory. This is how we cut costs and pass thousands in savings back to you. But it also means you have to wait a bit longer.

What is your return policy

The Swoop Armchair can be returned after receiving the order only if the product is damaged or unusable.

Our products are made to order. So we cannot offer returns for changes in preference. But we always do what we can to make it right.

To be returned, products need to be completely unused and still in their original packaging.

How can I track my order?

The Swoop Armchair ships within 2-3 weeks of order placement.

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive an email with tracking details, allowing you to monitor its progress. Simply use the provided tracking information on our delivery partner’s website to stay updated on your shipment.
