The difference is on the surface: a checked pile fabric woven in three colorways, warmer to sit on than leather and considerably harder to find.

Materials

Woven Check Upholstery
The checkerboard is woven into the cloth rather than printed onto it, so the pattern is structural and runs through the pile. Three colorways: Snow, a tonal ivory on white; Sand, taupe on cream; and Onyx, black on white. Fabric sits warmer than leather in winter and cooler in summer, and it doesn't stick.

Solid Walnut Wood Frame
The solid wood frame adds weight and stability, keeping the chair grounded for serious lounging.

8-Layer Birch Wood Shell
The birch plywood shell is historically accurate and adds to the chair's form and handfeel.

Die-cast Aluminum Base + Parts
The solid aluminum base and joints add strength, durability and stability.

Extra Thick Cushions
Deeper and softer than most, designed for the long sit. In fabric the cushions read a little softer to the hand than the leather version.
