Open box products are member returns and production samples.
To be included in open-box, member returns must be unused, arrive within 30 days of purchase and pass a thorough inspection.
Production samples are sent to our team for quality assurance and are never used.
No. Open-box only includes products that show no sign of use. Returns that show any sign of use are either discarded or donated.
Products rated "Fair" might show some imperfections stemming from shipping.
1. Screening — checked by The Essential team for signs of use.
2. Cleaning — ranges from wiping with alcohol to power washing.
3. Testing — detail inspection by The Essential team to verify proper working order and physical appearance.
4. Grading — rated Like New, Excellent or Fair.
5. Repacking — If available, in the original packaging (rated Like New). Otherwise, in new, safe and unbranded packaging (rated Excellent or Fair).
Perfect: Items show no signs of being used and include the same tags, labels and box as the original.
Excellent: Items that are clearly unused, but might be missing labels, tags and original boxes.
Fair: Incomplete sets or items showing light signs of wear and tear from shipping to and from the member.
We cannot accept returns for open-box products. However, if you believe that a product wasn't as described, email us and we'll issue you partial credits.
