Comprised of 50% Grade-A Cashmere and 50% pure silk, the scarf has the fineness, softness, and polished handfeel of the World's best cashmere and the shine and smoothness of pure silk.
The Essential scarf is available in two shades and is intentionally oversized — for a generous and luxurious draping effect.
50% Grade A Cashmere
Cashmere is rated with a letter grade based on thickness and length of the fibers. It doesn't get better than an A Grade.
50% Pure Silk
Sourced exclusively from the cocoons of silkworms. Sourcing this silk is intensive and time consuming, but also worth it.
Ethically Made
As with any animal product — not all cashmere is sourced ethically. That's why we waited, intentionally, to bring cashmere to The Essential. We spent over a year researching cruelty-free cashmere farms. We can now promise that our cashmere is harvested, and crafted, to our notoriously high ethical standard.
Breathable
Really good cashmere is three things: shockingly soft, meaningfully warm, and light as air. Our ultra-light high quality cashmere is perfect for a beanie because it’s low density construction keeps it breathable — keeping you warm, but never too warm.
Super Simple Design
Our beanie has everything you need, and nothing you don’t. We included high quality materials, made large enough to fit comfortably on any head. We scrapped unnecessary prints, tags, and logos.
Wrinkle + Odor Blocking
Natural fibers have a lot of benefits. Our favorites — they tend to resist wrinkles and absorb fewer odors. The properties are critical for a beanie — something that gets shoved into backpacks, dropped on the floor and soaked with sweat on the slopes.
Two Iconic Essential Shades
We hand-dyed our cashmere beanie in four iconic Essential shades. Selected to match any aesthetic.
Cement — a light, modern gray to ground any look.
Slate — a deep, dark gray to add depth to any look.
Dry clean or hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Hand wash in lukewarm water with mild detergent. Squeeze out excess water and lay flat on a clean towel until completely dry. Taken care of properly, cashmere lasts a lifetime.
